YAC Pwn Fest: A Big Success

Last night MEK OP hosted the board game room for the Yellowjacket Activity Council's fall-semester gamer event, Pwn Fest. Despite the obvious popularity of console video games (something like eight different rooms of Call of Duty, DoTA, LoL, etc), we still attracted enough players to run five multiplayer tabletop games simultaneously.  I had a group playing War of the Ring that went until midnight!

  1. HUZZAH! That is excellent! Might any of them make the transition to Saturday nights?

  2. Last night we had an two new people show up, one with a hand-made game that he was designing himself (still in a first-draft stage). Kyle sat in with them for a playtest session. I really wanted the two guys from the YAC War of the Ring session to come back again, but they didn't show. We still played a quick game with Zac playing Shadow. (Shadow won, as usual!)

The new game looked interesting, sort of a redesign of a simple chess/checkers system to include dice rolls and resource nodes. It plays like a turn-based version of a RTS computer game.

We're going to alternate between testing that and testing my D@W campaign, starting next week.
